I want to take a moment to say “Happy Mother’s Day” to all the dads out there. SO WHAT? “It’s not Father’s Day” you say? Well, GOOD DADS deserve A HECK OF A LOT MORE THAN ONE Day of recognition. NOT TO MENTION that Father’s Day is FAR less recognized, underappreciated and under celebrated. I won’t go into the reasons for that but it is OUR society and it is up to US if we want to change things. I don’t know about you, but I don’t simply want to be the thermometer of this society. Every “room” (place) I go into, I want to be the thermostat! I INTEND on CHANGING THINGS–AND PEOPLE–through my words but MOSTLY through MY ACTIONS!
Dads, thank you for being there. Thank you for ALWAYS believing in your kids, and NEVER putting them down. Thank you for not saying “you can’t do that, you’re just a girl” or “girls can’t help us fix this car” or “little girls shouldn’t play football” or “little girls shouldn’t try to hang with daddy and learn how to fish or use a hammer and nail “ or whatever! THANK YOU For NOT calling your son deprecious names when he cries. Thank you for teaching your sons how to be gentlemen.
THANK YOU For setting the standard for your family, your sons, your daughters, even though it may have been the HARDEST thing you’ve had to do because your examples were’nt so great.
It takes a STRONG, wise, MANLY man to make a good mother great! God bless all who read this and happy mother’s day, whether you’re a mom, dad, aunt, or good daughter or son!
